“Aqui” (translated from Portuguese as “here”) is a reflection on the nature of space and human presence within it. Here, space becomes not just a physical location but an existential field where each viewer confronts themselves and their own “here and now.”
The crosses with running text represent intersections of time and meaning. Their illuminated texts change, yet remain fixed in their temporal trajectory, much like thoughts that are born, fade away, and leave a trace. The voids between the crosses emphasize the freedom of choice and the responsibility for what fills this space.
The installation poses a question to the viewer: what does it mean to be “here”? Space is not given to us once and for all — it becomes what we fill it with.
PANTERRA works with the concept of light, text, and space, creating an artistic project that explores the boundaries between reality and perception.
